Before he speaks · twenty seconds

“And my Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross … that I might draw all men unto me.”

A boy at boarding school in England, watching aeroplanes. Then a glider, with no engine at all.
Two words to hold on to: lift and sink. Neither can be seen. Both can be felt.
The uncomfortable fact: if you are not climbing, you are descending — and may not notice.

One thing I will do

He asks it directly, so have the answer ready: *when did I last feel undeniable spiritual lift? Where was I, and what had I been doing?*

What is the quiet sink in my life — the gradual descent I have not yet turned away from decisively?
